Recheck cached immutable paths before resetting the live table after raw I/O failure. Keep accepted RAM mutations, current jobs and save deadlines when reads recover; stronger source or publication uncertainty still forces full recovery. Use the existing recovery byte and a fixed scratch buffer, with no cache allocation or eviction.
Cover full-cache transient recovery, persistent I/O and checksum failures, nRF unread-scope restoration, active ESP jobs, real uncertain publication and unchanged lazy deadlines with sanitizer tests and restored-reset negative controls.
Do not classify legacy or page-name stat errors as unread payloads. Keep candidate contact files unchanged, retry source selection, and use bounded volatile operation if authority remains unknown. Cover legacy absence, downgrade leftovers, cleanup-time metadata recovery and persistent faults with actual-source sanitizer tests and restored-bug negative controls.
Verify fallback namespace moves before accepting publication or rollback. Reload readable contact images at a safe host boundary, discard only unreadable contact data after bounded retries, and permit volatile operation when storage cannot recover. Preserve unrelated stores and fail explicit durability requests truthfully.
Keep existing flash, RAM, OTA and capability limits by streaming nRF52 preferences through the validated wire table and sharing identical contact deadline resets. Add fault-injection, sanitizer, legacy-image parity and CLI lifecycle regressions.
Verify public images after every rename attempt, expose publication outcomes, and use an independent CRC32C fingerprint so valid IEEE-CRC-tailed images cannot mask a stale target. Preserve persistent formats and reject directories for empty images.
Reconcile uncertain migration journals before choosing filesystem authority. Preserve retained contact snapshots when page publication is unconfirmed without clearing dirty state or acknowledging the new page generation.
Add readback, rename, CRC-tail, migration reboot/quarantine, and snapshot eviction regressions. Keep complete RAK Full Companion within the unchanged OTA ceiling through equivalent code compaction, with no feature or validation cuts.
Heltec V4 timing measured 2.19 seconds for recovery checks, temporary-file cleanup, open and buffer configuration combined in one lazy-save pass. Defer those startup operations across guarded companion loops while explicit durability callers still initialize synchronously.
Track ownership only after attempting to create the temporary file, preserve unowned stale files on early cancellation, and reject premature writes or commits. Cover startup faults, interruption, mutation, cache pressure and synchronous-construction negative controls with native sanitizer tests.
Extend the cooperative contact transaction to uncached ESP32 storage,
including the PSRAM policy used by the XIAO and V4. Preserve owned contact
copies, the 152-byte disk format, revision cancellation and synchronous
durability operations. Keep contact capacities unchanged.
Avoid SDK error logs when optional blob or transaction cleanup files are
absent, while preserving metadata and deletion failure handling.
Validate cached ESP/nRF and uncached PSRAM paths under ASan/UBSan,
including bounded writes, mutation cancellation, faults, recovery and
reboot readback. Update the existing uncached production fixture.
Persist Companion TX preferences per contact and channel. Default repeater,
room, and sensor replies to both active TX profiles, with a reply-only force
option for an RX-only secondary profile. Track both reply copies before a
temporary-radio handoff and account for OTA copies under queue backpressure.
Add bridge/crossover filter modes and the third built-in wardriving filter,
plus compact filter CLI syntax, documentation, and CI coverage.
Fix quoted target names being interpreted as slot/key selectors, partial
recovery of invalid saved reply settings, filter suspension during tempradio2,
and unnecessary packet allocation while OTA traffic is throttled.
Validation: 1,477 native tests, 52 Python integration tests, 29 filter UI tests,
and five firmware builds covering ESP32, nRF52, and STM32 passed.
